Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins Is Letting Go Of His Malibu Estate And You Can Have It For $11.5 Million

Anthony Hopkins has finally decided to part ways with his longtime Malibu home and has put the 4,000-square-foot two-story abode on the market for the price of $11.5 million. The amount is vastly higher than the $3.8M he put out for it in 2001.

Located on about one acre of land in the middle of Zuma Beach and Point Dume, the estate is roosted on a cliff with unimpeded panoramas of the Pacific Ocean.

The Malibu Mansion’s Internal Structure

Constructed in the ’50s, the home slightly looks like an English manor house, with garret windows extending out of its distinct brick-red roof. It holds five bedrooms and five bathrooms, with isolated structures interspersed throughout the estate.

The mansion has two fireplaces, and one of them is found in the living room. It also boasts of a deluxe master suite, which has a sauna in the master bath and a whole wall of glass with a view of the beach below. In the back, the property highlights a few decks great for al fresco dining, leading to a green garden that extends all the way to the cliff’s edge. A swimming pool sits adjacent to a poolside cabana that’s been transformed into an art room.

One Lucky Property!

The unfortunate Woolsey fire incident that took place in 2018 had destroyed most of the area where the Malibu estate is built on. However, Hopkins was a very lucky man since his dwelling was left intact from the disastrous fire incident. On the other hand, his next-door neighbor’s home was completely damaged and burned. So yeah, maybe it was the property that was lucky in the first place.

The Reason Behind The Sale

Hopkins’ main purpose for selling the house is apparently not related to the fire, though. According to the listing agent, the Academy Award winner just wants to spend more time nearby central Los Angeles.

Hopkins and his spouse, Stella Hopkins, also own a condominium in downtown Pacific Palisades, consisting of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The couple purchased it in 2016. In addition to that, the couple has a newly constructed home with a contemporary touch, which they bought in 2018 at the price of $6.6 million.

As if these weren’t enough, though, the duo also acquired a vintage ’40s Colonial, which is located right beside the contemporary house they already own. This property is their third one in the area, and they’re worth $12 million altogether.

The Newest News On Hopkins

The 82-year-old star, who’s been nominated for five Academy Awards and has even bagged an Oscar for his hair-raising performance as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, is still fairly active in the industry nowadays. This year, he was among the nominees for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in The Two Popes. If you haven’t watched the film yet, you can catch it anytime on Netflix.
